Amélie | West End, Criterion Theatre | May 21 2021

Second preview! Everything about this production is just perfect - the cast, the set, the orchestrations. It was a gorgeous show, and the cast all gave electric performances. Audrey's mic was turned off for her first few lines in 'Goodbye Amélie', but aside from that there didn't seem to be any other issues during the show. Apart from a bit of rustling at the start of act 2, the audio is very clear - although at a few points during the show some of the mics were quite quiet.

Act 1 only of Be More Chill's emotional Closing Night. A few mishaps throughout the show - the heart balloon escaped during Play Rehearsal, leading to some laughing from the audience, and Scott looked at it during his 'If we zombies have offended…’. Eloise also came in too early wiith 'Bonjour Jeremy'. Some rustling due to latecomers and a little talking from the people around me at points.

Stubbs), Michael Vinsen (Corny Collins), Kimani Arthur (Little Inez), Dermot Canavan, Lori Haley Fox
A fantastic performance by a phenomenal cast. Lizzie Bea is brilliant as Tracy, and I adore Marisha Wallace as Motormouth Maybelle with my whole heart. She got a (mid-show!) standing ovation for 'I Know Where I've Been' which was fully deserved. Michael Ball and Les Dennis were giggling and ad-libbing throught the 'Timeless To Me' reprise which was hilarious. Also includes a speech by Michael Ball at the end, where he tells the audience continue wearing their masks and listening to the ushers on the way out, as well as announcing the results of that night's football match. Audio quality is great and clear throughout.

This was a fairly rowdy audience at points: someone was yelling at points throughout the prologue, as well as someone else shouting 'I love you, Jason' in 'Song Of The King'. Aside from that, it was a fantastic performance. I loved Alexandra Burke as the Narrator and she did some lovely riffs at points. There was a funny blooper during 'Go, Go, Go Joseph' where the chef's moustache fell off. This was a great performance and the audio quality is clear throughout.
